In this book the main character, Rose Daniels, is an abused wife of 14 years. Her husband, Norman Daniels, is a cop and has abused her to the point where she has had enough and leaves in posession of his credit cards while he is at work. Rose is facing a situation that many other women do everyday. Her attitude makes the story more realistic. She is scared to fight back agianst her husband and will not leave. The antagonist, Norman, has an evil sense of humor and is smarter than most people. As a cop he can track down people and has had much experience doing so. Rose fears this and knows that if she is found there will be heavy consequences. Her goal is to dissapear and gain her freedom.
